The Philippines consists of 7107 islands. Only 2000 are inhabited and 2500 are not even named.

The Philippines is located north of the equator and south of Taiwan. The total area is approx. 300 000 sq km. From north to south, the Philippines stretches for 1850 km.

Manila, with a population of more or less 10 million, is the largest City and at the same time the capital of the Philippines. The two biggest islands are Luzon in the north and Mindanao in the south.

The Philippines is the only Christian country in Asia. More than 82% of the population are Roman Catholic.

The Filipinos are very sociable, friendly, helpful and extremely tolerant people.

The climate is tropical (warm and humid). There are roughly 3 distinctive seasons: the rainy season (June - November), the cooler dry season (December - February) and the hot dry season (March - May). Year round temperatures vary between 25°C and 35°C.
